GOD HAS PLACED HIS TRUST IN US

The Bible stresses that our relationship with God is based on our faith, on our trust in Him. In Hebrews 11:7, Noah was entrusted with the message of salvation and warned the people up to the bitter end, (See 2 Peter 2:5). Because of his faith in God, Abraham left the security of home and family and basically became nomadic in his lifestyle, Heb. 11:8-9. Moses chose the afflictions of his people over the wealth of the family of Pharaoh. Heb. 11:25. And the list continues! We understand that we must have an undivided allegiance and strong system of faith if we are going to obey Him. The truly humbling thing is the trust He has placed in us to carry out His will.  All through history men of God has demonstrated their trust in God. Hear the apostle Paul in 2Ti 1:12,  For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.”

The truly humbling thing is the tremendous amount of trust God has placed in each of us. Notice in 2 Corinthians Paul discusses having this treasure in earthen vessels. 2Co 4:7-11,  “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.  For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.”  Imagine the trust God has to give to us the gospel of Christ. Again Paul writes, 1Ti 1:11 -12, “ according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.  “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry”.  Our faithfulness to God earns His trust for us. Imagine if we are faithless in the Great Commission to go into all the world and preach. If we do not do it, WHO WILL. If we do not take the gospel into the world, we render the grace of God useless.  2Co_6:1  “We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.” Therein lies our motivation knowing God has entrusted us with this saving message and without our labor it is useless.

1Co_15:10  But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
